Did You Know? People are spending one to nine more minutes in AI Mode than on traditional Google searches. Google’s users are no longer leaving Google after a search and are just reading its A.I.-generated answers....depriving those who create the content of a commercial interaction, perhaps? Sound familiar? Real estate peeps, beware! (NY TIMES)
Did You Know? The percentage of millionaires in US states is shifting: California ranked #1 a decade ago in 2016 and 10 years later in 2026, with over 3.5 million millionaire households. Florida and Texas experienced the largest explosive growth with Florida climbing solidly into the #2 position in the US with roughly 1.85 million millionaire households driven by massive retiree and tax-migrant relocations, while Texas similarly expanded its share of wealthy to #4 with 960,000, matching New Jersey. New York now has only 570,000 millionaire households. You need a net worth $21.5 million to be in the TOP 1% in Hawaii, while in Connecticut it's half that. New Jersey, Maryland, Connecticut, Massachusetts, and Hawaii have the highest number per capita....close to 10%! The US accounted for nearly half of all new millionaires worldwide, adding more than 441,000. The UK ranked a distant second with just over 43,000 new millionaires, highlighting the scale of the U.S. lead.
Did You Know? The US gained the highest absolute number of wealthy people over the past decade, adding millions of new millionaires and leading global wealth generation......and those seeking what may be more important than anything, including taxation: safety and security.
Did You Know? The key to the success of solar power is consistency......storage of power when the sun is not shining. China has developed a group of battery banks that together have enough power to keep all of Texas and California going on a peak summer day. China is targeting 300 gigawatts of battery storage by 2030.....enough to power 300 million+ homes. (WSJ)
Did You Know? Is online shopping better for the planet? A delivery van drops off dozens of packages in one neighborhood route, which burns less fuel per item than a personal car making a dedicated round-trip. Large storage facilities run more efficiently per square foot than brick-and-mortar storefronts, which require high energy for constant customer lighting, open doors, and heavy climate control. Returns and packaging diminish this notably.
Did You Know? Some good news about the 2025 Palisades, CA fires of January. It's been 17 months since the fires and The Palisades Village is set to hold its grand reopening on Saturday, August 15th anchored by super-chic Elise Walker. The shopping and dining center has been closed since the devastating wildfire, but is reopening following more than $100 million in repairs and renovations. Of 774 home lots surveyed, 286 are standing or under construction, around 37%....all built to meet new safety codes. Many more are on the verge of starting construction. Many homes destroyed were highly flammable because they were constructed prior to modern, fire-resilient building codes. Older properties, heavily concentrated in the area's steep canyons and wildland-urban interface, featured wood stick framing, (75% to 80% were timber-framed with combustible exterior cladding) single-pane windows, and vulnerable roof lines that allowed wind-driven embers to ignite structures quickly.
Did You Know? In 1982, the first year Forbes compiled its list of the 400 richest Americans, the combined wealth of the 400 was only $92 billion. In 2025 it was $6.6 trillion.....an annualized growth rate of 10.23%. Median Home prices have escalated 4.17% in the same period....and US average net worth is up 4.58% in the same period, less than half that of the FORBES 400.
"It's attitude that matters, not resources. You create the world you want, not the world that's happening to you. You cannot design a building for 100 years and expect the use to remain the same."
