Gratitude Unlocks the Fullness of Life

December 3, 2020
Good morning,

California’s housing market remains unseasonably strong as home sales and prices remain at elevated levels. Whether measured by either mortgage applications or by requests for showings, homebuyer demand continues to remain at least 20% ahead of 2019.

The market continues to outperform expectations. Buyers want to purchase, so if the market can generate new listings, there is the potential that 2021 could be even stronger than currently expected.

Have a great day!
Information + Updates
Did You Know? Hedge funds have had their best year since 2001, beating the S&P 500 by 20 points on average..... Older investors have been rushing back into equities, sending the Dow over 30,000, as clarity on the presidential election and solid earnings reports remove some uncertainty. Most baby-boomers own a home already....or two....or three.... (BARRONS)

Did You Know? Jeremy Siegel, the Wharton professor credited for calling the Dow to reach 20,000 in 2015, predicted that the market could be in for a solid gain in 2021 based on three factors:

  1. Healthy (and cheap) money supply
  2. Vaccine news
  3. Election results resolved (Marketwatch)

Did You Know? Want to know where the jobs are? AMAZON has added 427,300 employees in 10 months, bringing its global workforce to more than 1.2 million! (NY TIMES)

Did You Know? The 2020 hurricane season is set to officially close Monday, and this year surpassed 2005 as the busiest ever on record with 30 named storms forming over the Atlantic basin. (WSJ) Like we needed anything else right now!

Did You Know? First, it was Starbucks, then Whole Foods, then Banks that indicated neighborhood gentrification and real estate upside potential. These days Amazon, Google, and Facebook are the biggest drivers of commercial real estate... Google owns almost $40 billion worth and Amazon-owned $39.2 billion in real estate at the end of 2019, up from slightly more than $1 billion in 2010. (WSJ)

"Gratitude unlocks the fullness of life. It turns what we have into enough, and more. It turns denial into acceptance, chaos to order, confusion to clarity. It can turn a meal into a feast, a house into a home, a stranger into a friend. Gratitude makes sense of our past, brings peace for today, and creates a vision for tomorrow." — Melody Beattie

The E-Commerce Boom is Offering a Lifeline for Oil Demand
The Deisel market is thriving…... “The trucking industry is the one shining light for the crude oil complex since Covid hit.” Refining margins have “shifted dramatically in ULSD favor since trucking demand is actually up while gasoline consumption is down." (Thank you Justin for the article!)
